Thomas D. Norris
Councilman
Thom has lived in the City of Eaton Rapids since 1984. Thom is a graduate of Everett High School and also attended Lansing Community College where he majored in Criminal Justice.
Thom purchased his first home in Eaton Rapids in 1990 and began getting involved in the community at that point. Thom's philosophy is that "you give where you live".
Thom joined the Eaton Rapids Township Fire Department in 1989 and served the Department for 5 years.
Thom was also a member of the Eaton Rapids Planning Commission and served on this Board for 4 years. At this point, after getting his feet wet on the Planning Commission, Thom decided to move on to the City Council. Thom started serving on Council in 1996, as Precinct 1 Council Representative. Thom served the City of Eaton Rapids in this capacity until 2006, when he resigned due to the demands from his job. After a few years off, Thom decided to run again in 2011, and was elected as Precinct 3 Council Representative, where he began serving in 2012.

Council agenda's are posted to the website by Friday around 12:00pm. Our meeting schedule is a Work Session on the 1st and 3rd Monday's at 5pm and Council Meetings on the 2nd and 4th Monday's at 7pm. All meetings are held at City Hall on the 2nd floor.
