Mayor
The Mayor, in addition to any other powers or duties provided by law shall have the following authority:
Be the Ceremonial Head and Chief Officer of the City; be the presiding officer of the Council; have all the powers and duties of a Council Member including the power and duty to vote, but shall not possess the veto power; give the Council information concerning matters pertaining to the legislative and policy functions of the Council and give the Mayor's recommendation thereon; in emergencies, have the powers conferred by law upon peace officers and shall exercise such powers to correlate the work of the City's Officers and Department to prevent disorder, to preserve the public peace and health, and to provide for the safety of persons and property; execute or authenticate by his signature such instruments of the City as the Council, by Charter, or any State or Federal law may require; make appointments of memebers of committees and boards of the City, subject to confirmation thereof by the Council; be privileged to participate in meetings of all committees of the Council, but without the right to vote.

Council agenda's are posted to the website by Friday around 12:00pm. Our meeting schedule is a Work Session on the 1st and 3rd Monday's at 5pm and Council Meetings on the 2nd and 4th Monday's at 7pm. All meetings are held at City Hall on the 2nd floor.
